Rhythm in Pink is a heartfelt program designed for women who have faced the traumatic physical, mental, emotional, and psychological challenges of breast cancer. This unique initiative pairs participants with professional male ballroom dancers, creating a warm and welcoming environment where women can rediscover their confidence and joy.
Over ten transformative weeks, participants embark on a journey to learn a choreographed routine, culminating in a showcase that celebrates their strength and resilience. Each lesson is an opportunity to reinhabit their bodies, fostering a sense of connection and healing.
During the course of our ten lessons. We build a uniquely close friendship with our professional partners. Their manner of interaction is warm and welcoming, completely without judgement. When your hand is taken, and you are led onto the dance floor your first lesson you might feel awkward and uncomfortable. WE are, for the most part, new to this endeavor.
But as your lessons progress and your relationship with your partner builds you start to feel more confident. Learning to dance forces you to reinhabit your body in ways that you might never have been before and most certainly not since your cancer diagnosis.
Your body may feel unfamiliar but the non-romantic, non-sexual intimacy of dance, women experience a profound sense of support and encouragement. As they move together, they begin to embrace their new selves, recognizing that their bodies are beautiful and whole, regardless of any changes they’ve undergone. It is truly deeply healing for the mind, body and soul.
Rhythm in Pink can help you put the pieces of the puzzle that is you back together. As you pick up each piece and massage it in your hand you know exactly where it goes. Each lesson brings new challenges and new discoveries.
You’ll learn that your new body has no limits and that you can feel elegant or sassy and move with the fluidity of the beautiful survivor you are. Without even realizing it, you will find that your relationships with loved ones are improving because you are healing and becoming more whole.
You learn that you are worthy of attention and even applause. The success of Rhythm in Pink is measured by the reactions of our participants.
